Do We Colour for the Process or the Result? šØš | Sunday Sentiments Episode 2
Hello everyone š¤ Welcome back to the second pisode of Sunday Sentiments, my cosy series ( weekly ish) where I colour, reflect, and chat about the thoughts and ideas that often emerge while I am sitting quietly with a pencil in hand. This week's topic is one I've been thinking about a lot recently: Do we colour for the process or the result? As colourists, we're surrounded by finished pages. We watch completed pages videos, admire beautiful flip-throughs, and celebrate those satisfying moments when a page is finally finished. But is the finished page really the point? In today's video I explore how my relationship with colouring has changed over time. From chasing completed pages and perfect results to embracing experimentation, WIPs, creative play, and simply enjoying the experience of colouring itself. Along the way I chat about: ⨠the appeal of the finished page ⨠the joy of the creative process ⨠what unfinished pages have taught me ⨠whether we are collecting experiences or completed pages ⨠and whether we really need to choose between the two I also share a few literary references and reflections, including Anne of Green Gables, Alice in Wonderland, The Hobbit, and even a brief appearance from Miss Havisham, whose patience might rival some of my oldest WIPs š The more I think about it, the more I wonder whether the finished page is simply a souvenir of something much more important: the time we spent creating it. I wouldloe to chat so let me know in the comments Why do you colour? Is it the satisfaction of a completed page? The relaxation of the process? A little bit of both? I would genuinely love to hear your thoughts because I suspect there are as many answers to this question as there are colourists. If you enjoy thoughtful colouring conversations, cosy creative chats, and discussions about the hobby we all love, I hope you'll grab a drink, settle in, and join the conversation. šø Like the video if you enjoyed it š¬ Share your thoughts in the comments š Subscribe for future Sunday Sentiments, Wednesday WIPs Without Worry, colour alongs, hauls, and community challenges like #Junicorn2026 Thank you so much for spending part of your Sunday with me š¤ #Junicorn2026 #coloringadventure #Sundaysentiments #progressnotperfection #colourandchat #colouringfun
