Co dalej z wiatrakami na morzu? Ważą się ich losy

The Polish energy sector is at a turning point. Over the past five years, we've made a gigantic leap in renewable energy, but this growth has a fundamental flaw – it relies primarily on unstable sources (solar, onshore wind), while in countries like Germany and Italy, stable renewable energy sources (biomass, hydro) play a much greater role. This episode was produced as part of a paid collaboration with Polenergia S.A. Worse still, an inevitable energy gap is approaching. The reason? The demise of the lignite deposit in Bełchatów and the technical demise of old coal-fired units. What will replace it? Nuclear power won't make it. Onshore renewable energy and gas won't be enough. In the latest episode of "Electrification," my guest is Grzegorz Kotte, Director of the Offshore Wind Farms Department at Polenergia. We discuss why offshore wind energy is the only viable solution to fill this gap and avoid a crisis.
