.Emacs #4 - Exploring the Filesystem with Dired
Browsing directories and files with an explorer/commander-like interface is built into Emacs as Dired (Directory Editor). Part of learning to live full-time inside of Emacs is getting familiar with it. We'll look at some of the basic functionality as well as some of the more advanced tricks. ShanaTsunTsunLove mentions that using 'a' instead of 'return' will open a directory in the current buffer (instead of creating a new one).
