06.14.2026 Romans 8:1-17 "No Condemnation and Life in the Spirit"

Today we move into one of the most beloved and maybe one of the most referenced and memorized chapters in all of Scripture: Romans 8. Paul begins with “no condemnation” and will end the chapter with “no separation.” In Romans 8:1–17, the emphasis falls on the Spirit of God, who applies the finished work of Christ to the life of the believer. If Romans 7 is dominated by the law, Romans 8 is dominated by the Spirit. The movement of this chapter - these verses - before us is this: Paul moves from the inability of the law to deliver us, to the power of the Spirit to free us, indwell us, sanctify us, lead us, and assure us as the children of God.
