Allium siculum Name & Origin Allium siculum, often still sold under the older name Nectaroscordum siculum, is commonly known as Sicilian Honey Garlic. Despite the name, it is not native solely to Sicily, but to parts of southern Europe and the Mediterranean region, including southern Italy, Sicily, France, and the Balkans. The plant naturally grows in rocky grasslands, open woodland, and dry stony slopes where drainage is excellent and summers are relatively dry. In Irish gardens it has become a favourite among gardeners who enjoy naturalistic planting and unusual architectural flowers.
