Maine is known for being one of the safest states in the country… so naturally, we had to go find the “most dangerous” places in it 😂 In this video, we break down crime rates across the state using real data, including violent crime and property crime per 100,000 residents. But here’s the thing… even the “worst” places here aren’t exactly what you’d expect if you’re used to larger cities across the U.S. We’re talking small towns, remote areas, coastal communities, and a few of the more “urban” parts of the state (and yes, I’m using that term loosely). Along the way, we look at population trends, local economies, poverty rates, and what life is actually like in these places… because crime stats alone don’t tell the full story. If anything, this video shows just how different Maine is compared to the rest of the country. Lower crime, slower pace, long winters, and an economy that doesn’t always keep up… it’s a unique mix.
