Frommes Tail - Top to bottom (Mountainbike Serfaus - Fiss, Austria) - YT Jeffsy

I was lucky enough to spend a few days in Fiss this summer with my girlfriend. It was her present for my birthday, so naturally we did a lot of relaxed tour riding. However at the end of each day I toook to the trails on my own to do some non-stop runs. This one has been on my wishlist for over a year. The Frommes Trail starts at the Schönjoch summit on a height of roughly 2470 meters and offers almost 1000 meters of vertical drop. You can either ride up the mountain using the gravel road from Fiss or take the cable car of the Schönjochbahn. From there it's a short easy uphill ride to the start of the trail. https://www.trailforks.com/trails/fro... Judging from videos I saw in the last years and given the newly shaped condition of parts of the trail I assume the trail underwent some updates over the last year. While I was riding the trail this August you could see the trail building crew still working on new sections, especially in the upper part where you have to transfer on a gravel road between two sections of the trail. So I will return in 2019 for sure to see what updates they did on the trail! But even without those updates the trail is a real gem of the Austrian alps. It offers everything you could wish for, from fast and flowy corners to steeper technical parts with roots and rocks. You will have short but demanding climbs and if the weather is good the trail offers a stunning panoramic view onto the Tyrolean alps. I did this full rund pretty late on the day which means not only there are fewer hikers (parts of the trail are shared) but also the sunlight was amazing that late into the day. All in all a must-ride if you happen to be in the western part of Tirol. It's not far from the Reschen Area. [My ride on strava]   / strava   [ My camera ] http://amzn.to/2BlVo2B
