I once came across a rather bold (alas, somewhat far from the truth) message online from a certain Evgeny K., the director and owner of a well-known IT organization, in which he "pulled the curtain" and described the landing process of a modern aircraft. It turns out the pilot plays virtually no role, as his plane is "guided into landing by air traffic controllers using radar and guidance systems." Ultimately, it's not the lazy pilots who should be applauding, but the programmers—after all, they wrote the automatic landing program! Is this true? Or not? To what extent is a pilot even necessary to land on the runway? Are all landings performed by autopilot? Or... Watch the video and share your impressions!
