Tablut - The Norse "Tafl" Game played by the Vikings!

Available now in our store: https://newventuregames.com/products/... People are generally familiar with Norse culture in a sort of Hollywood Comic Book fashion. But of course, the REAL Scandinavian heritage has a historical depth, and the REAL myths, legends, and sagas are grand in scope and filled with epic adventures. The Norse were great game-players, and when the Vikings went exploring, seeking trade and establishing colonies, they brought their table-top games with them to new lands and peoples. Most of these were called “tafl” games - the word “tafl” literally meaning “table.” Tablut is probably the most popular of these games. It's an asymmetrical strategy game in which one player is controlling a king and his guards, and the other player commands a larger force of attacking soldiers. The objective for the king is to escape from the board, or to a corner space of the board. The objective of the attackers is to capture the king before he can get away.
