It has more iron, calcium, protein, and other nutrients than white flour or maida. --------------------------------------------------------------------- Ingredients: 1 cup warm milk 2 tbsp sugar 1 tbsp dry active yeast 2 to 3 tbsp milk powder (optional) 3 cup wheat flour or atta 1 tsp salt 2 tbsp oil or ghee or butter 100ml water (as required) Instructions: Setp 1: Take 1 cup warm milk in a large mixing bowl, add 2 tbsp sugar and 1 tbsp dry yeast & mix well. Rest for 10 - 12 mins, allow the yeast to activate. Step 2: Add milk powder (optional) & mix well. Next add 3 cup wheat flour, 1 tsp salt and 2 tbsp oil. Mix until everything combined well. Add water if necessary and knead well (for about 15 min). Step 3: Cover the bowl with cling wrap or moist cloth or by any other means and rest for 1.5 - 2 hours. When the dough will double in size, knock down the air inside & knead again to a cylindrical shape. Step 4: Place the dough in a greased loaf pan (9 X 5 inch), cover and rest for 30 minutes or till dough rise just an inch above the loaf pan. Step 5: Preheat the oven to 170 C. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes at the same temperature & settings or until the top of the bread turns slightly brown. Step 6: Serve whole wheat bread or atta bread with jam or make your favourite sandwich & enjoy!
