Recology Autocar ACX Heil 5000 Rear Loader Garbage Truck - Christmas Compost in Seattle's Hills

Hey y'all! Happy New Year 🎆 Let's get after it in 2026 💪 Just before Christmas last year, I realized that I hadn't once filmed Recology in 2025 - I wasn't about to let that happen given my channel name is RecologySpencer haha. So, I trekked over to a neighborhood where Recology has the contract (split with WM for Seattle) hoping to track down one of their units on a Tuesday morning. After some strolling around, I spotted this ACX Heil heading down one of the steepest hills in the area, and I was happy to follow along and grab some footage as this driver handles fairly light compost with some sweet views looking North in the beginning shots. Like Carry Cans are to WM, these ACX 5000s are to Recology up here - they're the standard residential truck you'll see everywhere. I'd filmed two sister units on recycling before, and what holds true between each one is the janky tippers that like to hopper carts haha. Recology could definitely use some revamped units one of these days. I believe these are 2013-era trucks and they do a decent job getting these routes done. I have always enjoyed Recology's "Lettuce Compost More" wrap, well suited for this video.
