The Fort Jim Bridger Built
In 1843, Jim Bridger and Louis Vasquez needed a new line of employment as the fur trade was finished. Seeing an opportunity to outfit the western bound emigrants on the Oregon and California Trails -- they founded Fort Bridger. This location has gone through a vast amount of history and regeneration over the years. Come with the Oregon California Trails Association to Southwest Wyoming to Discover Fort Bridger. The Oregon-California Trails Association is the pre-eminent guardian and promoter of the inspirational story of the 19th century westward migration, which is unique in world history. Our mission is to protect the Historic Emigrant Trails legacy by promoting research, education, preservation activities, and public awareness of the trails, and to work with others to promote these causes. #oregontrail #californiatrail #bridger #wyoming
