Comparative and Superlative in French

*plus GRANDE que… Comparative forms are used to compare two things and demonstrate the superiority, inferiority, or equality of one term with respect to the other. The comparative construction may focus on nouns, adjectives, or adverbs. In French, the comparative and superlative forms of adjectives and adverbs are made in a way somewhat similar to English. 1. Comparative a. ‘plus … que’ corresponds to the English comparative ‘…er than’ or ‘more … than’. b. ‘moins … que’ corresponds to the English ‘less… than’. c. ‘aussi … que’ corresponds to the English ‘as ... as’.
