RS BIODIVERSIDADE -- TURISMO RURAL EM QUARAÍ - Programa Rio Grande Rural

The butiá palm is native to the western border region of Rio Grande do Sul, which belongs to the pampa biome. In the municipality of Quaraí, there are more than five thousand butiá trees spread across more than 42 square kilometers. Some of these trees are over 200 years old. This landscape and its cultural and historical heritage are improving the income of local family ranchers, through crafts and tourism. Journalist Taline Schneider Cameraman José Cabral Quaraí - RS
