This time, I've decided to tackle my Hiace soundproofing project by applying wind noise reduction tape to each door. I bought this part over six months ago, but I finally decided to do it during this scorching hot summer, haha. The product description says, "Reduces unpleasant wind noise and drafts for a comfortable interior." Essentially, this part is applied around the door to increase the airtightness of the weatherstrip, reducing wind and drafts while driving. As for the effect, frankly, it's not very noticeable when driving on local roads. However, the effect is quite significant when driving on the highway; wind noise is considerably reduced. And because the airtightness with the door has increased, drafts are almost completely gone. However, adding the rubber has also increased the rate at which doors are slightly ajar, haha. I think it's worth trying, as it only costs a few thousand yen and you can feel the effect, especially if you only do the front doors. The installation is easy; simply peel off the rubber double-sided tape and stick it along the surface where the weatherstrip of the vehicle door makes contact. It's quite simple. However, it's only easy on the front doors and rear gate; the sliding doors are a bit more difficult, especially the bottom. The manufacturer states that it cannot be applied to sliding doors, so those attempting to apply it to sliding doors do so at their own risk.
