There are generic options; I have both the "pen" and the "keyboard cover" from other brands. They are products with good cost-benefit, but… When compared to the MacBook, I believe it's fairer to get everything from the original. PRICES Looking at the Apple Brazil website for comparison, we see that the MacBook Air is sold for R$13,999. While the iPad is sold for R$7,499, but… it's only 11 inches! The fairest option is the 13” model – the same size as the MacBook. And here's where things get serious: R$9,999.00. The MacBook already comes with 512GB, and the iPad in the same configuration costs R$13,599. But remember: it doesn't come with any accessories, meaning you'll still spend MORE or R$3,200 for the keyboard cover. SCREEN Here, of course, it depends A LOT on your usage. In my opinion, the iPad is more enjoyable for consuming content. You touch the screen directly… use it in any position… it seems more modern, but… For productivity, the MacBook still wins. Professional compatibility Plugins, drivers, specific apps, corporate tools, and accessories still favor the Mac. Many professional software programs simply don't exist on the iPad. External monitors It's compatible, both for mirroring and for use as a second screen, which is very cool, but... when compared to the MacBook, we have support for MORE monitors. Now, to be fair: For MANY people today, the iPad easily replaces a notebook: study; light/medium/heavy editing; media consumption; social networks; general productivity; Office Suite; Canva; photos; videos; content management and more… The problem starts when the user enters: heavy professional workflow with extreme multitasking and specific software BATTERY Regarding battery life, both are excellent. But I feel that the MacBook, besides being more consistent in heavy use, also lasts longer overall. They are products that we use in different ways, it's impossible to pinpoint an exact battery life, but both last all day. It's worth mentioning that, being a notebook, the Mac has two charging methods: via normal USB-C and also via Thunderbolt. VERDICT If I could choose ONLY ONE… I would definitely go for the MacBook Air M5.
