(Exclusive) WMATA Metrobus: 2025 NovaBus LFSe+ #1040 on Route C37

Seen here is Metro’s FIRST NovaBus! This is 2025 NovaBus LFSe+ #1040. In March 2023, Metro awarded NovaBus and New Flyer 5 40 foot buses each for battery-electric bus evaluation. The 2024 New Flyer XE40 CHARGE NGs (1045-1049) have been in service since August 2024, June/July 2025, while the first two 2025 NovaBus LFSe Pluses (1040 & 1042) entered service this week. 1041, 1043, and 1044 has not been delivered yet. This is a compilation of photos and videos of #1040, including a short video onboard #1040 on Route C37 along Minnesota Avenue. As part of the Better Bus initiative, all legacy Metrobus lines were replaced by the 2025 Better Bus Network. The C37 combines the core of former routes U5, U6, and M6 into one route, using Southern Avenue to connect the former Marshall Heights and Fairfax Village loops.
