The far eastern part of Siberia, Yakutia is the largest republic in the Russian Federation, a vast territory, five times the size of France, yet with only one million inhabitants. It is also the coldest inhabited place on our planet. Christophe arrives at the end of winter in Yakutsk, the capital still frozen in ice. After a walk on the frozen river and buying a chapka to face the Siberian cold, he goes in search of the Evenk nomads. Destination Olieneck, a small village lost in the middle of the forests. Welcomed into a family, he attends the annual reindeer herders' festival during which the nomads of the region compete on sleds or skis.
