68 - Patrice GUENIFFEY pour le livre sous sa direction "Révolutions françaises"

Of all our revolutions, the French Revolution is undoubtedly the one that had, and continues to have, the greatest impact, both in France and throughout the world. It should not, however, make us forget earlier revolutions: that of Étienne Marcel in 1356-1358, or that of the Catholic League during the Wars of Religion. But it is also important, in order to understand our era, to revisit the revolutions of 1830 and 1848, the Paris Commune, and the events of May 1968. We have invited Patrice Gueniffey, who edited the collective work devoted to French Revolutions, from the Middle Ages to the present day, to present the revolts and revolutions that punctuate our history and to consider the future of revolution—without losing sight of the Revolution of 1789-1793, to which our guest has dedicated several books and studies.
