Genesis - Watcher Of The Skies - Bass Cover

Genesis - Watcher Of The Skies [Foxtrot, 1972] Something different today, some pure progressive rock! Watcher of the Skies opens Genesis' "Foxtrot" (1972) with a legendary, long and solemn mellotron intro that leads to one of the most rhythmic songs on the album. The long introduction crossfades into the main ensemble section, which features a prominent single-note staccato pattern in a 6/4 time signature played over a pattern of sustained organ chords. Following the vocal sections of the song, there is an unusual polyrhythm part, where the staccato riff changes to 8/4 time, played against a Mellotron/organ chord part in 6/4. To get Mike Rutherford's bass sound I'm using a '97 Rickenbacker 4001 v63 with some smooth Hiwatt style vintage drive. What would you like to see next? :) Thanks for watching! Cox
