Hal Sharp's Promotion to Judan (10th Degree Black Belt) 11-12-2020

Nanka (the Southern California Judo Association) recognized by Jigoro Kano the founder of judo in 1930, has bestowed the highest rank on Sensei Harold 'Hal' Sharp. Known worldwide for his 1955 book 'The Sport of Judo' and subsequent books, Sharp Sensei was instrumental to the growth of judo after WWII leading to its inclusion in the Olympics.
