Jesus, Bless Me! Many people pray every day: "Lord, bless me." But do you know what it means to be blessed by God? A blessing is not just money, success, or open doors. A blessing is God's favor, guidance, protection, and purpose upon your life. In Book of Genesis 28:1, Isaac blessed Jacob. But that blessing was not given without instruction. Jacob was told how he should live and what he should avoid. God's blessings always come with responsibility. When God blesses a person, He expects that person to walk in obedience, humility, and good character. Many people want the blessing, but they do not want the discipline that preserves the blessing. If God blesses you and you continue living carelessly, pridefully, or disobediently, you can lose what God intended for good. A blessing is not just something you receive. It is something you must learn to steward.
