When we start to want to make our own firewood without machines, we often have the reflex to look for a good saw. However, the axe is in many cases much more efficient and fun. Another common misconception is that an axe must be heavy to be effective. I wanted to show that you can already do a lot of wood in a short time with a 900g axe, an ideal weight to start without risking injury: a tool that is too heavy reduces your capacities, your endurance and especially your precision. In this video, I use the 900g Trento forged by B.R. Rinaldi, one of the last European axe makers to produce quality traditional axes.
