On Sunday, November 16, 2014, Nicolas Louys made an emergency landing in Bastia, in Upper Corsica. His father, Yves, and his partner, Clorinde, lived nearby in the hamlet of Cambia. Clorinde had just alerted him that Yves hadn't been heard from since Thursday afternoon. The attractive woman in her sixties told him a rather convoluted story. She suspected her partner had left her for another woman: a pretty blonde who had come to Corsica to harvest chestnuts for the season. For Nicolas, it was a devastating blow. At 61, his father, a former purchasing manager at Pernaud-Ricard, had come to settle on the Isle of Beauty for his retirement. A romantic at heart, he seemed perfectly happy and even wanted to marry Clorinde Vanni, a childhood sweetheart he had reconnected with almost 50 years later. Nicolas immediately contacted the police. And they too are asking questions because not only is Yves nowhere to be found, his cell phone stopped transmitting a long time ago, and no activity has been detected on his bank account. Not only does Clorinde's story not hold water, but on December 16th, the police discovered Yves Louys's body in the scrubland, under branches, not far from his home. Who killed Yves Louys, and why?
