The Role Of Ultra Wide Field Imaging In Diabetic Retinopathy And Macular Edema Prof. Seenu Hariprasad Associate Professor and Director of Clinical Research, University of Chicago, USA Presented as part of Optos' WOC2014 Symposium titled "Ultra-Widefield Retinal Imaging- A New Standard of Care: Clinical Applications & Case Studies" on 4 April, Tokyo, Japan Optos is continuing to expand the clinical applications of optomap Ultra-widefield Imaging. Studies demonstrate that significant clinical changes in diseases such as diabetic retinopathy, retinal vein occlusion, degenerative and inflammatory disease occur in the peripheral retina. Thus, the ability to image and monitor the entire retina with Ultra-widefield Imaging is crucially important. Additionally, targeted photocoagulation guided by Ultra-widefield imaging may work together with pharmacological intervention to aid improved outcomes in Diabetic Macular Oedema. This symposium will educate delegates on the role of Optos technology to enable a new standard of care to be delivered that will lead to more effective detection and treatment of the retinal disease.
