Nothing More - Fade In/Fade Out (Drum Cover) - Brendan Shea
This is a drum cover of the song "Fade In/Fade Out" by Nothing More from the 2017 album "The Stories We Tell Ourselves". This is it. The last song off this album. Reflection time. This album could not have come at a better time in my life. I have times in my life where I just feel extremely low and down, and I'm not sure if it's depression or anxiety or all of that because I've never been to a professional to see, so I won't officially say it's that. That's just what I feel it is to help describe it the best way I can. There's also a bunch of other things that happened in my life that make me think the way I think, but that's too long of a story to tell. Anyways, things were starting to look up and I started to reflect on it right before this album came out, and then I heard this. It was everything I need to hear. I related so much to the story telling that Jonny put into this album. It just spoke so hard to me. And then the drums.. I absolutely love this style that Ben does. He takes control of the drums, just staying in the pocket and not overdoing it, adds tasteful fills whenever it is best needed, and just comes up with the right drum part to bring out that feel in each song. From the chaos and apocalyptic vibe of The Great Divorce, the mellow and softness of Still In Love, the accented beats in Let 'em Burn, the driving force of Don't Stop, to the flowing grooves in Fade In/Fade Out that brings this entire thing to a close. I love it all. It was a huge pleasure and an exciting challenge to do this entire album. I've said this before, but this band has a special connection to me, because my family has known them for over a decade and seen their progression, and it is truly inspiring as an artist to see that hard work does pay off and you truly can achieve what you want to do in your life. I'm also thankful for anyone who supports what I do, even when I don't know what I'm actually doing. It is onto the next challenge now, which I don't know what it is yet so we'll see haha. If you like it, feel free to comment and share. Hope you enjoy!!
