Gregory Spawton of Big Big Train Discusses "The Likes of Us"

Big Big Train founding member and multi-instrumentalist Gregory Spawton was kind enough to spend some time with me to discuss the making of the band's new album, The Likes of Us, which drops on Inside Out Music on March 1. The new record is the first since the untimely and tragic death of vocalist David Longdon as Alberto Bravin bravely steps in to fill David's shoes (and does so, brilliantly). The album is recognizably Big Big Train, with all of the usual characteristics fans have come to expect and enjoy, while being a bit different. It's a very personal album and rather than singing third-party story songs, the writing comes largely from within on the new on.
