Karneshwar Temple: One of the Oldest and Most Amazing Shiva Temples in Ratnagiri Maharashtra

Hi friends, Karneshwar, a Shiva temple is situated in Sangmeshwar town. We drove down from Devrukh to visit the temple. The temple is on a small piece of land but is magnificient to look at. Thankfully they have let it remain in its original state and not covered it with paint. The temple has wonderful carvings inside and out. There is a jolly old priest inside the temple, who was very enthusiastic about telling us the story behind the temple and pointing out the various sculptures and stories behind it. It made our visit even more enjoyable. Karneshwar is a 15 min drive from Sangmeshwar station, around 30 min drive from Devrukh town and around 1.5 hours drive from ratnagiri.
