Kensington SlimBlade Pro wireless: bearings replacement

I've replaced the OEM synthetic ruby bearings of my Kensington SlimBlade Pro Wireless with 2mm Silicon Nitride G5 bearings (Si3N4). Since using my SlimBlade Pro daily for the past 3 months, despite weekly silicone grease applications and every other day quick clean out of the bed of the ball, I've been increasingly annoyed at the STICTION as well as a generally sluggish feel of the ruby bearings. Especially as I have my Kensington Expert to my left constantly as my left-hand trackball, I've noticed the significant difference in smoothness of the trackballs. Now that I've swapped out for the Si3N4 bearings on the SlimBlade Pro, I can say that it is for now the fact that my right main SlimBlade Pro trackball is noticeably smoother and quicker than my left-side Expert trackball - I'd estimate about 20% smoother. Compared to how the ruby bearings felt, I'd say subjectively that my SlimBlade Pro with Silicon Nitride G5 bearings is at least 33% smoother, faster, quicker, more responsive, and most importantly, there's no further feeling of stiction on initiation of movements. The response is immediate and quick. I was surprised to find on disassembling the SlimBlade Pro that Kensington had dramatically altered the construction of it, including making it now more difficult to access the ruby bearings. You must carefully hinge out the britttle plastic flat cable tip holder, then carefully unscrew the side-mounted lens chip to unscrew the final LARGE bearing protector screw. I used a small corner of a wood thing to knock out the bearings from the outside inwards, but I applied silicone grease to it to make it sticky so less likely to roll and squirt out explosively. There was screw at each corner of the bottom base underneath the ovoid sticky pads. There were 3 screws spaced 120degrees apart beneath the central circular sticky pad. Then it was rather easy to gently pry apart the SlimBlade casing. There were 3 screws holding down the main board to the casing. There was a screw spaced 90degrees apart about the outer ring of central trackball bed. There were primary cabled inputs going from battery pack to controller and switchboards controllers. The switches looked surprisingly very different to the old panasonic type ones on the original SlimBlade. I believe the old ones were Panasonic EVQ-P0E07K tactile 0.05amp 30volt switches. I don't have any expertise to know what these new large rectangular blocky switches are. If I ever feel like replacing them, I guess I could try calling Kensington at 1-800-535-4242. I've not had any issues with the OEM switches onboard so I have no desire to risk ruining my trackball by trying to desolder them.
