Nicola Benedetti and Mark Simpson in conversation: Part 1
In part 1 of this three-part series, violinist Nicola Benedetti and composer Mark Simpson meet to discuss Mark's new Violin Concerto, which he has written for Nicky and the London Symphony Orchestra. They talk about the process of the commission and composition, how the work has evolved through lockdown, and how Nicky has tackled learning this new piece. The world premiere performance of the work will be conducted by Gianandrea Noseda and streamed on Marquee TV on Thursday 29 April at 7pm BST.
