Part 1: The History of Homewood Izaak Walton Preserve
Part 1 of a documentary on the history of Homewood Izaak Walton Preserve, a park operated totally by volunteers. Producer Marcus N. Mims gives a historical look at a park in Homewood Illinois which was founded by Arthur Senior in 1946. Part 1 highlights the early years before the park was established; a profile on park founder, Arthur Senior; Illinois Central Railroad which donated the land to Homewood; park volunteers; Washington Park Race Track and the fire that destroyed it in 1977; and the establishment of the national organization known as The Izaak Walton League of America. This documentary was produced in 2016.
