Raul Midón & WDR BIG BAND - Was It Ever Really Love

The WDR BIG BAND joins Raul Midón to perform his song "Was It Ever Really Love" in an arrangement by Vince Mendoza, who also leads the WDR BIG BAND. Solos are played by Peter Tiehuis on guitar and Ben Fitzpatrick on tenor saxophone. Recorded as part of the live stream "Las Cosas De La Vida" at WDR Funkhaus (December 2022). Many know Raul Midón in small groups: as a singer-songwriter and guitarist, he has released about a dozen solo albums. He first began his musical career as a background singer with Latino stars such as Shakira, before launching a solo career some 20 years ago and from then on also collaborating with jazz greats such as Paquito D'Rivera and Herbie Hancock. When Raul Midón and his guitar now join the WDR BIG BAND for the first time, much will revolve around Latin American sounds. With influences from Cuba, Puerto Rico, Mexico and Argentina, the gifted musician will sing about the many facets of love.
