Ahh, the good old toilet siphon. Quick and easy money for a plumber. If your toilet won't flush but it has wayer in the cistern then it'll 99% of the time be due to the siphon. This video explains how it works, how they usually fail and how to fix or replace them. Note: there are many different versions, this is a Dudley 88 Turbo.
