Board bow self bow Pt.1
After I have cut all of the usable bow staves out of a piece of lumber, I am left with the waste end of the board that is usually either too narrow, bad grain, or wedge shaped to be used for bow making. This tag end was an unusual piece... perfectly straight, parallel and great grain. Problem is that it is on the cusp of being too narrow and it is pretty roughed up, but... I think that with some thoughtful design, proper handling and good tillering, we can make this "stave" a real nice self-bow longbow. Let's see if we can salvage her shall we..?
