We depart from the city of Arcachon and cycle approximately 13 kilometers, following the coast and traversing forests and dunes until we reach this natural sand giant facing the Atlantic. The Dune of Pilat is the tallest in Europe and a place marked by extreme nature, the wind, and the recent history of the great 2022 fire that completely transformed its surroundings. During our visit, we explore the contrast between the ocean, the sand, and what remains of the forest, as well as the experience of accessing the area by bicycle as a sustainable and direct way to discover it.
