Advocating for development in Kakamega County | We Reach

In our advocacy work within the Giving for Change Programme in Kakamega County, we collaborated closely with We REACH, the anchor organisation of the Community of Practice (COP) to propel development in the region. This member-driven body brings together Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) across the county to engage in collaborative discussions, share insights, and strategise on development initiatives aimed at driving community advancement. Through collective efforts, the COP works to address local challenges, identify sustainable solutions, and enhance the impact of CSOs within the communities they serve. The video highlights the Kakamega Community of Practice Network (K-CoP) anchored by We Reach which has made significant progress in strengthening its member organizations through targeted initiatives. These include comprehensive on-site assessments of 30 member organizations to identify capacity gaps and challenges, a 3-day Organizational Development Systems Strengthening (ODSS) workshop focusing on key areas like finance management and resource mobilization, and democratic leadership elections to ensure effective governance. #communitydevelopment #policyandadvocacy #advocacy #communityofpractice
