Testing the NEW LRT3 Line for the Ultimate Klang Food Hunt! 🚊🔥60-Year-Old Kopitiam to Legendary BKT

Testing out the brand new LRT3 Shah Alam Line while it's still FREE (for a month) for a food hunt hits entirely different! 🚊🏙️✨ Today, the Switlei the Foodie family is breaking in the new train line to take you on an epic, day-to-night food adventure from Petaling Jaya all the way straight into the heart of heritage Klang! We kicked off our morning by boarding the LRT3 at Damansara Idaman station. Of course, it wouldn't be a true Switlei adventure without a little fumble—we mistakenly got off too early at the Pasar Klang station! 🤦‍♂️ Realizing our target spots were a couple of stops away and tracking the clock (since the shop closes at 2:30 PM), we quickly grabbed a ride over to the legendary Chong Kok Kopitiam. We feasted on a comforting, classic breakfast spread: local Fried Meehoon with a fried egg, a jiggly, flowy Roti Goyang, Kaya Butter Whole Meal Bread, a slice of rich butter cake, and a perfectly brewed cup of local Kopi! ☕️🍳🍞 Next, we took a short stroll over to Teochew Nang Cafeteria to try some authentic heritage snacks. We ordered a comforting claypot of Hakka Abacus Seeds, alongside a plate of fried Guang Jiang (which was a tiny bit of a letdown), and a sweet, golden Calamansi Juice to instantly quench our summer thirst. ☀️🍹 To beat the scorching afternoon heat, we ducked into Cendol Durian Buhari (Lorong Jepun) for a bowl of refreshing Cendol Biasa. Even though their crown jewel is the durian version, we chose to keep it light and simple because a massive dinner was right around the corner! 🍧☁️ For dinner, we walked over to the legendary Seng Huat Bak Kut Teh Restaurant (the iconic under-the-bridge spot!). Even though they only open at 5:30 PM, we arrived by 5:00 PM and a queue had already formed—we finally found our people who love an early dinner! 🍲🔥 When the doors opened, the rush to grab a table felt like a massive family gathering visiting relatives' houses—busy but super orderly. We dived into a bowl of Chicken Feet BKT (which was standard) and their spectacular Claypot Bak Kut Teh. The claypot was loaded with soft bone, tender pork intestine, and stomach that completely enriched the broth, plus fucuk and taupok that absorbed the herbal soup like a sponge, creating a literal explosion of flavor in our mouths! Of course, we paired the meal with a warm pot of Jasmine Tea to balance out the fats. Walking back to the Jambatan Kota LRT Station, we saw so many familiar faces from the BKT shop—it turns out everyone had the exact same idea to take the new LRT3 down for dinner!
