Here's Part 2 of our international marriage story! International marriages come in all shapes and sizes, but how you communicate and overcome them is unique to each individual. As you can see in the video, we also went through a difficult time before getting married. But once they overcome that, it becomes a very, very unique marriage proposal story, so please watch until the end. This is a bilingual couple video series. If you like these videos, please leave a comment in the YouTube community tab. The other day, a BB family member requested a "marriage and relationship advice segment," so we're currently considering that. [Today's English] The English lesson in this video is, of course, English for "romantic relationships." The English words we'll introduce are often used in romantic relationships, so it's good to remember them. ◆Guarded When you want to protect yourself, you use the word "guarded." He's very guarded. He's always trying to protect himself. She's always so guarded that it's hard to really talk to her. ◆Insecure (complex) The word "insecure" is used a lot. However, since "complex" is a noun and "insecure" is an adjective, the usage is slightly different between Japanese and English. Here's how it's used in English. Example: She's quite insecure, huh. or "She's so insecure." "Insecure" can be used not only in romantic English, but also in business. For example, it can be used to describe someone who refuses to accept the plans of those around them and insists on their own proposal despite their complex about not being good at their job. It's basically used in the same situations as in Japanese. How can I use this video to study English? Please watch this video as a kind of "listening to English casually." Our channel uses English grammar that native speakers actually use, and the speed isn't slowed down unnecessarily, so if you're used to this speed, you'll be perfect when you travel abroad! So, I hope you'll use this video to practice your English listening comprehension! There's also a great way to use this video to improve your English listening skills. A 4-Step Method 1. First, when you first watch the video, enjoy watching it from start to finish while reading the Japanese subtitles. This step isn't about "studying English"; it's simply about memorizing the content of the video and the storyline. In other words, step 1 is about understanding what's happening in the video, regardless of whether it's in English or Japanese. Don't worry too much about studying English here. 2. Watch the video again, but this time, listen carefully to each phrase (phrase you're interested in) and read both the English and Japanese subtitles together, focusing on the English phrases (expressions) and how they're expressed. Pausing and rewinding may help you understand difficult English expressions. Believe it or not, our videos are carefully selected to include the "English you really need to know." So, no matter which phrases you learn, it's worth it. We hope you'll think of it as "real-life English conversation." 3. Watch the video again. From now on, watch videos without reading the Japanese subtitles. If you don't understand, always look at the English subtitles. So, this step makes you feel like you've just studied abroad. In other words, it's a step that doesn't rely on Japanese. ④ Watch the video from start to finish again, without reading either the English or Japanese subtitles. You'll be amazed at how well you understand it. You may not understand 100%, but compared to before you listened, your English skills will have improved so much you'll be amazed. Many people might think, "What? My English skills will really improve just from this?" But since you've watched the same part four times, you'll have learned more English than you thought (just like when you can somehow sing the same song after listening to it four times). This is how everyone learns when studying abroad. Incidentally, young children learn languages in the same way too. If, after going through these four steps, you still can't fully understand the content of the video, I recommend going back to the parts you couldn't hear in the listening section and listening to them two or three more times. Finally, if you have any questions about the English used, please feel free to ask in the comments. It will also help...
