About Ahmadiyya Islam: The Muslims await the coming of Isa son of Mary, peace be on him, believing that he will herald the victory of Islam over the forces of evil and darkness. Sunni and Shia Muslims believe that this Isa (as) will be the same Isa (as) as came to the Jews 2000 years ago. Ahmadi Muslims however, believe that Isa (as) according to the Quran and the prophetic statements is dead, and will not himself return. Rather, the prophecies of his return refer to another person bearing his name, just as Yahya (as) was declared by Jesus (as) to be the second coming of the prophet Elijah. To prove this, Ahmadi Muslims point out that the Quran categorically states: 1. Isa (as) is dead 2. Isa (as) survived the crucifixion. 3. Isa (as) could not ascend to heaven as this is not possible for a human sent as a messenger 4. Cannot leave heaven, once having entered. 5. That he will not return and witness the wrong beliefs of the Christians about him many, many other proofs! Ahmadi Muslims believe that the prophecy of the Imam Mahdi and the Masih's descent related to the coming of a person in the Ummah who would have the rank of Masih for this Ummah, as Isa ibn Maryam was a Masih for the Jews.
