Most of the farmers asked about the significance of Zabardast Urea which a bioactive nutrient fortified fertilizer produced by Engro Fertilizers in collaboration with Niha corporation California USA. First of all you should know about bioactive Zinc. Actually due high pH of Pakistani soils most of the zinc applied as zinc Sulphate get fixed and only a minor fraction is available for plant uptake. The zinc ready to be up taken by the plants by the action of Zinc Solubilizing Bacteria is called bioactive Zinc. In zabardast Urea there is 42% nitrogen and only one percent Bioactive Zinc which would be about 500 grams per bag of Zabardast Urea but it's almost 70% in available form hence fulfills the crop need. Now come to the best time and method of using zabardast Urea. Mostly it gives excellent results if broadcasted prior to irrigation or after irrigation depending upon the soil texture. Fertigation although found useful but broadcast is highly recommend. It's use of only one bag is recommended at first irrigation in wheat. It's market price is usually 900 rupees more than simple prilled Urea which is an economic approach in respect of zinc availability as compared to separate mixing of zinc Sulphate and simple Urea.
