We create Symphonic Metal covers and release them in sets. While we are on lockdown here in Moscow, I'm taking song requests from my patrons on Patreon. The song "Everybody Wants to Rule the World" and the video for it was requested and inspired by my patron Tiger Lapis. I have a confession to make. I have never heard "Everybody Wants to Rule the World" until Tiger asked me to make a cover of this song (fun fact: Sergey instantly recognized it because the Tears for Fears original was used in an anime series that he watched as a child 😁). It was love at first sight and I was absolutely excited to start working on it. I used a lot of arranging and sound design techniques that I've never tried before. Tiger also inspired me to use the chess theme in the video. Chess is a metaphor of war and political power struggle, the battle between The Light and The Dark. Unfortunately, real life is way less honorable and has no fair rules. We can see it every day in the news - tyrants who point guns at peaceful protesters and poison their opponents. This is the perfect time for a song like this to be heard. I wish that politicians remembered the proverb saying that after the game, both the king and the pawn go into the same box. By the way, the endgame of the chess game in the video was featured in a popular movie.
