What have we here? Oogie Boogie huh? OH!!! I’m full of fear! Mwahahaha. Join me as I attempt to unravel one of "Tim Burton's The Nightmare Before Christmas'" most buggy characters in this creepy animated video dive into Oogie Boogie's origins and more! You know him. You most likely grew up with stories of a Boogie Man, boogeyman, boggart, hobgoblin, Sack Man, or similar, that would snatch up naughty children in the dead of night! Turns out, most everywhere under the shadow of the moon at night has stoires and tales of such creatures. And, maybe that’s why "The Nightmare Before Christmas’" Oogie Boogie strikes such a terrifying collective chord - Oogie Boogie is so frightening because he is a blank canvas (haha… because presumably he’s a burlap sack?!) for each person to project their fears onto. He is unpredictable and chaotic, and, I propose, an exact Anti-Claus, what with Lock, Shock and Barrel running around doing his bidding. Also, Oogie Boogie's BUGS. TOO MANY OOGIE BUGS. I also touch on the videogames, "The Pumpkin King," and "Oogie's Revenge," as well as ponder how Oogie Boogie was added to the movie to be an antagonist/redemption arch to Jack Skellington's Pumpkin King ego? So!
