Rocks To Gold! Gold Ore Processing System To Smelting Gold Doré
This is a huge day! After five years, we've finally reassembled the complete 1 Ton Per Hour (TPH) Turnkey Gold Processing System at the shop. The primary goal of this video is to tune the equipment—but we made some gold in the process! We ran approximately one ton of ore we previously bagged from the mine to test every stage of the circuit: Test Crushing: Feeding the raw ore into the 8x12 Jaw Crusher and conveying the 3/4 " minus material. Fine Grinding: Evenly feeding the ore into the Hammermill to achieve a powder-fine crush through the 0.8 mm screen. Concentration: Running the resulting slurry over the 4x8 Shaker Table, showing how the grooves efficiently separate the fine gold and heavy sulfides (tellurides) into the Number 1 and Number 2 concentrates. Tailings Management: Demonstrating the Spiral Classifier for dewatering and volume reduction, a huge advantage for saving pond capacity. 🔥 Smelting Success, Tellurium Snag! We took our high-grade concentrates, combined them with bismuth as a collector, and smelted them down. While the initial free gold refined cleanly in the paper towel direct cupellation, the smelted button from the concentrates revealed a classic metallurgical problem: The final button frosted over and developed a dark film as it cooled, indicating persistent tellurium contamination (likely from calaverite and tellurobismuthite) that resists standard cupellation. The final result? We pulled 10 grams of gold/telluride alloy from the old ore! ⛏️ What’s Next? (Stay Tuned!) Tellurium Solution: A deep dive into the alkaline flux method—the scientific pyrometallurgical solution—to clean this tellurium contamination and produce a final, high-purity Bright Button. New Mine Ore: The long-awaited video where we crush and process the bags of rich run-of-mine ore from our new gold mine! 👇 Connect with Us!
