Train Simulator 2015 - Route Learning: Preston to Carlisle (Class 390 Pendolino)
In this next route learning video we take a Virgin Class 390 Pendolino tilting train from Preston to Carlisle along the West Coast Main Line over Shap route. We will be calling at Lancaster, Oxenholme, Penrith and Carlisle. I have tried to include information about all stations, speed limits and braking points. Please note that the speed limits in this video are for tilting trains only. I will be making a separate video to cover the route in a non-tilting train. I made two errors when remembering speed limits. The first was between Carnforth and Oxenholme. The speed limit dropped to 105mph and went almost immediately back up to 110mph - I missed the 110mph speed board so it took me a short while before I realised and accelerated. The second was between Shap Summit and Penrith. The speed limit dropped from 95mph to 80mph and I only remembered just before the drop in speed limit.
