(26 Mar 1996) T/I: 10:31:09 Indian troops recovered eight bodies from Kashmir's holiest mosque n Tuesday (26/3) as a standoff with heavily-armed muslim eparatists holed up inside the Islamic shrine entered a third day. An estimated 2,000 policemen and members of the paramilitary Border Security Force (BSF) continued to lay siege to the marble shrine on Tuesday in a bid to flush out the 20 heavily-armed JKLF militants inside. The entire area around the lakeside mosque on Srinagar's outskirts was under curfew for the second day.
