Heavy rains lashed Mumbai and the MMR region on Wednesday evening. While most people were returning home from work, the downpour began. The downpour was so intense that people were stranded wherever they were. Seeing the rain stop, people were seen walking to the station, drenched. According to the BMC Disaster Control Room, just a few hours of rain caused waterlogging in many low-lying areas of Mumbai.
