Burdigala: From failure to flop
The Kaiser Friedreich/Burdigala only made 18 commercial voyages in a career lasting 16 years. Its troublesome engines, low speed and high coal consumption caused it to be rejected by three companies. The onset of the Great War gave the ship a short reprieve until a sea mine put the ship out of its misery forever. This video explores the unfortunate life of this ship.
