New TP4056 module with step-up circuit review - Not that great!

Powering electronics projects from batteries is always a challenge as there is no easy way to get stable output voltage without adding extra circuitry to them. One such circuit is a step-up converter that can take the voltage from the battery and raise it to usable 5V for a typical microcontroller. So far, when I wanted to use a battery to power a project, I was using two modules separately, one for charging - TP4056 and another one for stepping up the voltage - MT3608. When I first saw this new module on AliExpress that combines the two, I was really excited so I ordered a bunch of them and I started testing them only to find a major flaw that really prevents me from using them in situations where they need to be left unattended.
