Musicians' Pathologies, Introduction and Solutions -- OraBrass Musicians are subjected to a number of clinical pathologies that are rarer in, or are completely non-encountered by, average people. Because of this, specialized care for musicians must be seriously considered by healthcare providers -- and musicians should also be educated on the best actions to take for their health. Temporo-mandibular Joint disorders (TMDs) and embouchure collapse/"blown chops" are two extremely common pathologies wind musicians face on a day-to-day basis, that are less common in the average person -- with embouchure collapse being almost exclusive to the brass world. These issues are resolvable, however, and easily preventable. OraBrass is a brass-centered project for wind musicians, created by pre-dentistry student Andy Hoang. A lifelong musician -- Andy Hoang uses his background in biological/chemical sciences in order to bridge the gap between the worlds of dentistry and music. Andy hopes that OraBrass will inspire and encourage musicians of all levels -- from beginners to professionals -- to make informed and confident decisions in their day-to-day lives.
