The winter solstice has been associated in the Alto Aragonese Pyrenees with a large number of rites and traditions. One of the most widespread rituals during these Christmas holidays in the eastern part of the province of Huesca has been the Christmas Trunk, directly linked to fire. A good part of the rites were also related to weather predictions for the coming year, such as the onion calendar and the calenders. In 2007 we were able to collect these typical Christmas rituals.
